Here's the music and film I was commissioned to create by Quapaw Canoes. In this I explore what lurks just under, and indeed, over and around the surface. Filmed during a 2 day canoe camping journey on the river with Quapaw Canoe Company (https://www.island63.com) in the mysterious and mystical environment that is the Lower Mississippi river. One of the last wildernesses.. The transition from land to water is as symbolic, as the time spent on the water. And the time on the water is a never ending opportunity to see nearly everything in a slightly new way. #visitclarksdale #visitclarksdaleresponsibly

Clip from the film Merma (2017) by Director & Script Writer: Enrique Aguilar Jansonius. Unfairly fired from her job, Maria, an indigenous Mayan woman, pushes the boundaries of her will to conceal her pregnancy and stay true to her identity whilst working in the threatening and abusive environment of a clandestine sweatshop in Yucatan. The discrimination and abuse from her equally mistreated co-workers is but one fear she lives with. My film scoring uses marimba and oracino instruments along with samples of the sewing machines and scissors from the film to build an uncomfortable increasing tension... *TRIGGER WARNING: child abuse, domestic violence* @indiefilmmusiccontest #indiefilmmusiccontest Bear Hugs is a short film about a group of hurting teddy bears and other toys that talk about their traumatic experiences in a support group. The original video is here: https://youtu.be/lcax6rmsR8w Film Scoring notes: Essentially an underscore to allow the melancholy and upsetting dialogue and action to take centre stage. A few motifs support the key characters. “Jay” has an unsettling accompaniment to reflect her unnerving journey attached to a rocket. “Stitch” has a solid chordal sequence to represent his persistence, wisdom and ability to be in the middle of distress. What a fantastic film to score. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing the music! Cheers, Rob

This excerpt from the film Spring (2019) is the story of a shepherd girl and her dog, who face ancient spirits in order to continue the cycle of life during the Winter to Spring transition..
